At Taylor Rose, we can help you become a consultant solicitor. Consultancy is a modern approach to practising law, without compromising on quality. Our Consultant Solicitors work as self-employed solicitors, whilst still enjoying the support of the respected Taylor Rose brand. Our tailored Consultant programme recruits great lawyers, enhancing our established personal and business legal services.
Working as a Consultant Solicitor is very different from being employed. You need to bring your own client following and have the confidence to win new clients too. Winning business is the biggest change when you become a Consultant. You would have the support of the Business Development Team and Internal Operations. However, the main drive would be from the Consultant. If you can build a strong client base, there are significant benefits.
As a self-employed solicitor, you have the independence and freedom to define your own earning potential, set your own hours, and choose the cases you want to work on. You also have the freedom to choose where you work. At Taylor Rose, our Consultant Solicitors have the option to work from the office, from home, or to choose hybrid working. Our solicitors can work remotely or choose to work in one of the 30+ offices that we have across the country. Being a Consultant Solicitor allows you to fit your work schedule around your lifestyle.
At Taylor Rose, we offer our Consultants a competitive fee split. We offer either a 70/30 split in your favour, rising to 75/25 when you hit £250,000, or a 60/40 fee share split, rising to 65/35 when you hit £250,000. The 60/40 option includes a full-time desk in one of our offices, while the 70/30 option is for those working from home.
Becoming a Consultant Solicitor is a simple process. After your initial application is approved, we will call to brief you on the programme. Once both parties are happy to proceed, a no obligation draft contract will be sent for your review. Once you have reviewed it, we will contact you to finalise and set a start date. Our IT department will then contact you to set up your computer and telephone systems. After all this, our Consultant Concierge Team will then contact you and start the induction process.
Consultants at Taylor Rose are either qualified as Solicitors, Chartered Legal Executives or Licensed Conveyancers or have substantial focused legal experience and are experts in their field. They also need to demonstrate four years of experience and a good track record in your chosen practice area.
As a Consultant Solicitor, you will have the support of the respected Taylor Rose brand. We understand that moving from employed law work to self-employed work as a Consultant can sometimes be daunting, but we provide extensive back-office support to ensure that our Consultants can do their best work.
